I love movies, music & television and have ever since I can remember. I started collecting autographs in 1983 mainly by writing letters to some local celebrities with addresses out of magazines and could not believe it when I got responses. In 1986 I remember finding a book for sale at the local newsagent that was just a book of celebrity addresses, I spent my whole summer holidays writing letters and loved coming home from school to see who had answered. I kept writing on & off over the years and addresses were so much easier to find with the internet. I also tried writing to a venue for the first time in 2002 and could not believe it when my photo of Kylie Minogue came back autographed. I've always loved this hobby & done it on & off over the years since. In the past year or so I have been sending out many requests, in particular trying to get people I missed out on when I was younger.
In 2000 I made friends with a fellow collector in LA and he kindly has obtained a lot of in person autographs for me. I take my hobby seriously and study & research each autograph to verify its authenticity. Besides getting to meet celebrities in person at signings, I think through the mail autographs are the most fun - you just never know what might be in your mailbox that day!!
As someone who has always loved movies, I finally got to realise my childhood dream of going to the USA in 2004, visitng LA, Las Vegas, Orlando & New York. In 2005 we took an extended holiday and lived in West Hollywood for a few months and it was one of the best experinces of my life. Some of the things I got to do:

Meeting Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt & Kendra Wilkinson at an instore appearance
Meeting Ashlee Simpson at an instore appearance
Go to heaps of TV & Film locations & see lots of celebrity homes
Some of the celebrities I have loved meeting in person and are very special memories are Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Joan Collins, Belinda Carlisle, Olivia Newton John & Katy Perry.
This hobby is great fun, the mail brings you surprises all the time & then getting to meet some of your favorite performers in person is the icing on the cake.
